Goals and Objectives

The main goal of ACAN is to ensure that ARCON registered private architectural practices are able to adequately represent the status of the Association with clients and the public, by exhibiting a minimum standard of proficiency and integrity and in exchange be adequately remunerated.

The association will also develop and promote a body of private architectural practicing member Firms with a minimum level of experience, integrity and competence adequate for the needs of our building industry as well as prepared to adhere to a strict code of professional and corporate conduct.

The goals will be achieved with the following objectives

  • To regularly update member Firms using Continuous Professional Development Programmes (CPDP) on new practicing procedures, materials and equipment.
  • To ensure that (working with ARCON) only Firms duly registered to practice architecture in Nigeria under our statutes are allowed to do so, with the proviso that where foreign architectural Firms are needed for any project, it shall be in collaboration with a qualified Nigerian Firm earning a minimum of 50% of the total fees due on the project.
  • To ensure that member Firms are adequately remunerated for work done in normal commissions and competitions.
